Electronics RecyclingTwice a year - Drop your unwanted electronics off at Tucker First! The computers, monitors, keyboards, components, batteries, printer cartridges and styrofoam were all taken to the recycling event sponsored by the City of Decatur.
You may drop cell phones, printer cartridges and used batteries off throughout the year in the designated bins by the stairwell just off Jenkins Hall towards the music/preschool wing.
Tucker First UMC particpates in the twice-yearly Electronics Recycling events sponsored by the City of Decatur. The City of Decatur recycles electronics twice a year - usually in March and October. You don't have to go to Decatur yourself to participate. Drop your electronics off during designated drop off periods at Tucker First UMC, and we'll haul them to Decatur for you! We'll let you know when to bring your items in.
The Decatur event is usually at the Decatur High School Parking lot, on the corner of N McDonough St and Howard Avenue. Electronics dropped off the recycling day will be sorted and disassembled into raw materials or cleaned for re use. The Decatur Waste Management Advisory Council investigates the recyclers involved to be sure the items are responsibly disassembled and not landfilled.
Upcoming dates and items that can be recycled can be found at:
