Subject: TFUMC Youth Updates

This Sunday!

We WILL have youth this Sunday from 6:30-8:30 pm. We will be doing some messy games so dress for mess! You may want to bring a towel and some extra clothes as well. We will be kicking off our new series based on game shows. We’ll look at the Wild and Crazy “Kids” of the Bible, as well as play some weird and different games.

Snack Supper This Week and Beyond

We are still in need of one family to assist the Wasmers this week (August 29) with Snack Supper. If you are available please let me know as soon as possible! We still have lots of other dates available:

Please remember we need parents to assist with one snack supper per child in the youth program. (5 kids=5 meals) The sooner we complete the sign ups, the sooner we can place this on the website for your convenience!

Money Found

If your child returned home missing a few dollars after MYF on Sunday night, we may have it! Please let me know the amount your child is missing so we can verify it is his/her money. Thanks to Katie Kilpatrick and Sam Frihart for turning it in!

Confirmation

All sixth grade youth or any youth that has not participated in Confirmation yet is invited to do so this year. Our Confirmation breakfast kicks off our year on September 12, and concludes with Confirmation Sunday May 1. If your child is interested in participating, please send his or her name to me by August 31 so we can find a mentor and plan for their attendance.

JDRF Walk for a Cure—Join the Beta Cell Beasts!

Phipps Marvil is encouraging all of his youth friends and their families to participate in the 2010 Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk for a Cure at Centennial Olympic Park on October 16. In the coming weeks we will be collecting money to aid research for type 1 diabetes, but first we need to assemble our team! To register and find out more about fundraising, visit Charlie Marvil’s page at http://walk.jdrf.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=extranet.personalpage&confirmid=87728345&sr=facebook and click “Join this Team.” Each participant is encouraged to set their own goal for fundraising, but it is not required.
