VBS 2009

The Boomerang Express ran through Tucker First United Methodist Church from July 20 to July 24 and brought 241 students, 51 adult leaders and 42 youth helpers along a journey of discovery in the Land Down Under!

We learned the pledge to the Christian Flag, the pledge to the Bible, the Lord's Prayer in sign language and lots of songs and scripture verses that teach us that no matter where we go, or what we do, it all comes back to Jesus!

During VBS we collected 83 jars of spaghetti sauce & 140 boxes of noodles for the NET Food Pantry.  We also exceeded our goal of $2,000 for NETWorks - we collected $2,260.29!  We closed VBS this year at a special service in the Sanctuary on Sunday, July 26 where our VBS kids shared what they learned in music and drama. Everyone then enjoyed a hot dog lunch over in our Activities Center.   What a great week!

Joel's wife Peyton was given the honor of shaving his head since he promised to do that if we collected more than our $2,000 goal for NETWorks and the NET Food Pantry during VBS.  We did so he did!
