Children's Choirs


Children's Choirs 
 
Calling ALL children ages Pre-K through fifth grade! Children’s Choir rehearsals, handbells and Orff classes began on Wednesday, August 22, but if you didn't make that date don't let it stop your kids from joining in.

About our Children's Choirs 

 

CHERUB CHOIR
Cherub Choir is for children ages 4 and 5 (by Sept.1). This is a training choir where basic music and Christian concepts are "taught" in a game-like setting involving much movement and physical activity.
Director: Donna Harris
Time: Wednesdays, 5:45-6:30 p.m. (Room 159)

CAROL CHOIR
The Carol Choir is for children in grades 1 and 2. Music education continues with the use of actual anthems in the hands of the singers. Hymns and Scriptural songs are taught as well as the church year and parts of the worship service. This choir sings about six times a year.

Time: Wednesdays, 5:45-6:30 p.m. (Music Center)

MELODY BELLS
Melody Bells is a training bell choir for children in grades 4 and 5 who are also members of the Wesley Singers. The rudiments of bell ringing and note reading are taught. Participation in worship begins as soon as the ringers are prepared. Ringers must be active members of the Wesley Singers

Time: Wednesdays, 5:45-6:30 p.m. (Room 210)

WESLEY ORFFANS
Third graders will express text, rhythm, melody and harmony through the use of unpitched and pitched percussion instruments (Orff instruments), movements, handchimes and recorders. Musical skills will be developed verbally in speech play and vocally with beautiful singing. Third graders who wish to be in Wesley Orffans must be active members of the Wesley Singers.

Wednesday, 5:45 - 6:30 p.m.  (Room 207)

WESLEY SINGERS
Wesley Singers are children in grades 3, 4 and 5. Service to the church and worship participation are very important in this choir. Music education continues, as well as hymn study, study of the parts of the parts of the worship service and the liturgical year. This choir sings in worship once a month, participates in choir festivals and has occassional social events.

BEGINNING GUITAR (Starts August 29)
For third through fifth graders. Basic guitar skills.

Wednesday, 5:00 - 5:45 p.m. (Room 102)

INTERMEDIATE GUITAR (Starts August 29)
For Youth: 6th grade and up & Adults
Instructor:  Ty Roberts
Wednesday, 5:45 - 6:30 p.m. (
