We invite you to come visit and join one of our many adult classes. We're sure you'll find a class that meets your needs...and one that needs your presence. If you're new to TFUMC, you might find our building maps helpful.
Join us on Sundays at 9:45 am in room 112 for an open discussion on “Welcoming the Stranger – Discovering and Living God’s Heart for Immigrants.” Contact Leigh Andersen at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. The topics include:
August 3, Where Immigrants Come From
August 10, A Christian Response to Immigration
New Study Starting August 17 in the Coffee Stop
On Sunday, August 17, the Coffee Stop will begin a new study of the book, What We Talk About When We Talk About God by Rob Bell. Jimmy Moor will be leading this study. You will need to purchase the book or download it. Here is a note from Jimmy:
I am excited to be leading a discussion of Rob Bell's book. On the book jacket it says thus: How God is described today strikes many as mean, primitive, backward, illogical, tribal, and at odds with the frontiers of science. At the same time, many intuitively feel a sense of reverence and awe in the world. Can we find a new way to talk about God? Bell writes in an engaging, thought-provoking style. You are welcome to be part of this conversation.

Our age group is guesstimated at between early 70's to 80's with a few "younguns" of late 60's thrown in just to keep up alert! We have rotating teachers and alternate between studying from the Adult Bible Series to studying a special book selected by a class member.
We have a weekly newsletter (Points From the Podium) that contains updates, cares and concerns, praise announcements, etc. We also have a weekly class calendar keeping everyone updated on those in charge of the upcoming Sunday needs i.e.: song leader; piano player, coffee maker, treats furnished by, devotional presenter and study leader.
Lecture and discussion about topical subjects from the Bible and how these topics relate to life. A facilitator does the prep work for the discussion and class members have the option to follow along or if busy with children and life, they can attend and still participate in a lively discussion. We have very intellectual conversations weekly. The class members are varied and cast many perspectives on the topic of the day.
