Thinking Theologically Book ClubOur Thinking Theologically Book Club is currently taking a break. If you're interested in joining us when we start back, if you want to help us pick the next book, or if you just have questions please contact Evelyn Burkett at ehburkett@comcast.net or 404-727-1582
Have you ever asked questions like these?• How could a loving God send people to hell?
• Will people have a chance after they die to believe in Jesus and go to heaven?
At our last meeting, the group discussed these topics from the book, Erasing Hell by Francis Chan (author of Crazy Love) and Preston Sprinkle. As the back cover of the book states,
This is not a book about who is saying what. It's a book about what God says. It's not a book about impersonal theological issues. It's a book about people God loves. It's not a book about arguments, doctrine, or being right. It's a book about the character of God. Want to help pick our next book? Join us! All are welcome.
The Thinking Theologically Book Club meets monthly at the home of one of our members. We generally meet on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm but we are flexible and can adjust to meet our members' busy schedules. Be sure to check each month for the date & time. Note that we are taking the month of August off so you have plenty of time to read our next selection and join us!
The group decides what to read by consensus, with the only guideline being the books are read and discussed in the context of our Christian faith. Your presence and participation are welcome. Bring your Bible, your copy of the book and join us for honest and open discussion as we strive to think theologically!
